Irving The Hobo    (SIR 303)   Al Stevens

OPENER

Sides face, grand square
I woke up this morning with the sunlight in my eyes
The mockingbird was singing from the clear blue sky
I jumped into the water, took a swim around the creek
So happy that I've found the life so many people seek

Four ladies promenade go once around the ring
Get back home and swing your man and promenade I sing
I've found so many friends along the countryside yo see
Irving the hobo that is me

FIGURE

Heads promenade go halfway round the ring
Walk right in and square thru four hands around and then
Do a right and left thru and turn them with a half sashay you know
Pass thru, trade by, box the gnat and go
Square thru three to the corner allemande
Come back one and swing and promenade the land
I never go no trouble, I've got only me to blame
Irving the hobo is my name

MIDDLE BREAK

All four hobos promenade go once around the ring
Get back home and swing your mate, everybody swing
Join your hands and circle to the left around and then
Allemande left and then you weave the ring
Free as the wind is what hobo's got to be
Swing your lady go round and round and promenade for me
I've found so many friends along the countryside yo see
Irving the hobo that is me

OPENER

Sides face, grand square
I pick up my harmonica and play myself a tune
My biggest fan and listener is the bright and shiny moon
I walk across the country and I live on nature's gift
A man who lives the way I do is always on the drift

Four ladies promenade go once around the ring
Get back home and swing your man and promenade I sing
I've found so many friends along the countryside yo see
Irving the hobo that is me
